DUMPLINGS – KNEDLE – WITH STRAWBERRIES




 

DUMPLINGS – KNEDLE – WITH STRAWBERRIES

Ingredients:

  • 1 kg of potatoes
  • 0.5 kg of strawberries
  • wheat flour
  • 1 egg
  • 50 g butter
  • Sugar and salt




 

Preparation:
Cook potato, drain them and mash well or pass through a potato ricer. Place the potato in a bowl and press with hand to make an even surface. Take out ¼ of the potatoes and fill in the gap with wheat flour. Add egg, ¼ teaspoon salt, mix everything thoroughly and knead dough with your hands, until you reach uniform consistency.

Wash the strawberries, and dry them with a paper towel. From your dough form a roll with about 3 cm diameter and cut it into one inch pieces. Press a piece of strawberry into the centre of each flatten piece (you can add a bit of sugar), pull up edges of dough and seal forming a ball. Drop your dumpling into salted boiling water and cook for about 2-3 minutes from the time they come to the surface. Remove with the slotted spoon. Serve with melted butter or sour cream.
