Sweet Ribs


  • about 3lb / 1 ½ kg/ lean pork ribs
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup water
  • 5 garlic cloves, pressed
  • 4 tbs soy sauce
  • 1 ½ tbs mustard
  • pinch of chili powder
  • salt

Rinse ribs thoroughly, dry well, and coarsely chop; set aside. Fill a large pot with about 2 ½ quarts of water and bring to a boil. Add ribs to boiling water and cook until tender. Remove ribs from water and drain completely.
Stir together sugar, water, salt, garlic, soy sauce, mustard, and a pinch of chili powder in a bowl until well mix. Transfer the mixture to a pot and bring to a boil over medium heat. Add cooked ribs and simmer in the sauce for about 15 min.
