Apple Tart – I love it when my house is filled with the smell of freshly baked apples and cinnamon.
I love making this tart in the winter time. I hope that you will enjoy this recipe especially because it is very quick and easy.
- 1 package of frozen puff pastry
- 4-5 apples
- Lemon juice of ½ of a lemon
- 400ml of heavy cream (30%)
- 1 package of vanilla pudding
- 6 table spoons of sugar
- One small package of vanilla sugar
- 1 tea spoon of cinnamon
- Butter for greasing the pan
In a greased with butter baking pan, place the puff pastry. Press the puff pastry to the bottom and the sides of the dish. Pierce it with a fork and place it in the fridge for about 30 minutes. Wash and dry the apples, peel it and remove the seeds. Slice it into thin slices
In a sauce pan bring to a boil half of the cream with 4 table spoons of sugar and the vanilla sugar.
In the remaining cream dissolve the pudding. The mixture of cream and pudding add to the boiling cream and sugar mixture and cook it until the pudding thickens. Place the pudding on a puff pastry creating a uniform layer. On top of the pudding place the apple slices in an overlapping layer.
Sprinkle the apples with lemon juice and the remaining 2 table spoons of sugar mixed with cinnamon.
Bake for about 35 minutes in an oven preheated to 200C.
